Lent
My church preached a really good message this evening. I have lots of friends [and me included] who celebrate Lent and forget why we’re doing it. We should remember to give up things that distract us from God or things that will be hard to remind us of Jesus’ sacrifice.  They gave some good examples, like giving up listening to your Ipod between classes/bus rides to focus on prayer,...

Today is a wierd anniversary
Its the 17th anniversary of my mom’s death. I wish I knew when her birthday was, so I could celebrate her life instead of dwelling on the day her life ended, but alas, I don’t. We don’t freely talk about it and probably never will. I’m so happy with how my life has turned out, with who my dad re-married, and how my step-mom raised me, but on days like this, I can’t...

e e cummings
i like my body when it is with your body.  It is so quite new a thing. Muscles better and nerves more. i like your body.  i like what it does, i like its hows.  i like to feel the spine of your body and its bones, and the trembling -firm-smooth ness and which i will again and again and again kiss,  i like kissing this and that of you, i like, slowly stroking the, shocking fuzz of your electric...

I give up
on the job search for this semester. I have all the time in the world, a great resume, and I’m broke. I’ve applied to at least 10 places [granted, none have been fast food places….ugh don’t want to go there again but I may have to], and some places with friends working there already to put in a good word.  And I have not been even contacted. Period.  It must be a sign...

Simpleness
Focusing on the bigger picture of my life has allowed me to focus on the simple, every day joys :] You should try it. — the first scoop into a new, big, yogurt container. — well made coffee. — a dead Ipod coming back to life. — a beautiful day. — being called “petite” by a stranger and then by a friend. — getting inspired by my own art work. ...
